About Belmont, MA - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Belmont, Massachusetts was originally settled in 1639, but established as a separate town two centuries later and named for the 200-acre estate of sea merchant John Perkins Cushing, one of the town's founders and main land donors. Belmont was originally farm country, then switched to an economy based on growing flowers and vegetables in commercial greenhouses up through the early 1980s. Belmont today is a primarily residential suburb of Boston, a role reflected in its motto: “The Town of Homes”. Famous Belmont residents have included painter Winslow Homer, musicians James Taylor and Yo-Yo Ma, Major League Hall of Fame catcher Carlton Fisk and entrepreneur Robert W. Welch, Jr., inventor of the Sugar Daddy candy and founder of the anti-communist John Birch Society which was headquartered in Belmont until 1989.

Belmont's winters are long and cold, but when spring arrives residents like to head outdoors to the 59-acre Beaver Brook Reservation, which offers hiking and biking trails, ball fields, a playground, a wading pool and a scenic waterfall. In summertime the town sponsors the annual Payson Park Music Festival, featuring free outdoor concerts every Wednesday evening from June through August and kiddie concerts on select Fridays at noon. When the snow starts to fly, however, Belmont World Film brings the fun indoors with a Family Film Festival in January as well as an International Film Series that begins in March.
